Enchanted Kingdom: New normal

Do you still remember the last time you visited a theme park? What was your unforgettable ride back then? For Filipinos, like us, the most feasible time we last visited a theme park was way back in early 2020, before the Pandemic. As we all know this global pandemic hit each one of us and businesses like theme parks are not an exception. But we have good news for you guys, after several months of temporary closure, one of the Philippines’ famous theme parks managed to strategized and adapt to this “new normal”. Yup! you heard it right. Last October 17, Enchanted Kingdom announces that they are now back to business and will start to accommodate guests. We know some of you are excited about their opening especially we are now in the holiday season, but we do also know that some are still hesitant and worried about safety. That is why we created this article to give insights on what are the things you should know before going to Enchanted kingdom in this new normal time.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE GOING TO ENCHANTED KINGDOM

How to go to the Enchanted Kingdom

Enchanted Kingdom is situated at San Lorenzo South, Santa Rosa, Laguna. It is around 45 min to 1.5 hr of travel time from Metro Manila depending on the traffic. Prior to Pandemic, the cheapest way to go here is via commute. Wherein you just need to ride a provincial bus from Cubao or Buendia, get off to Waltermart Santa Rosa then ride a Tricycle to the Enchanted Kingdom.  But this mode of transportation is not yet available during this pandemic. That is why we highly suggest/recommend to bring your own car when you visit Enchanted Kingdom.

Enchanted Kingdom Capacity

Guys, some of you are maybe wondering about this capacity. Maybe some of you are thinking what is it for you? right? Let us explain, In order for Enchanted Kingdom to go back to its operation they must comply with IATF guidelines, and this guideline mandates that they are only allowed 50% of their capacity. Yup, they cannot accommodate us all. That is why they are highly encouraging their visitors to book online and avoid walk-in to make sure they can accommodate you.

Health Checks and Safety Protocols

Like other establishments, guests/visitors of the park are required to follow and comply with these health checks and safety protocols.

  • Health Check forms – Visitors/Guests are required to fill out this form. Please be honest about it. This is for everyone’s safety.
  • Temperature check – At the parking entrance, at the park entrance, and even inside the park there are temperature checks.
  • Face mask and Face Shield – Both face mask and face shield are a MUST.
    • There are safety officers inside Enchanted Kingdom that are politely reminding visitors to wear both face mask and face shield.
    • During the rides, guests can take off face shield but face mask should still be worn.
  • Hand sanitizer and Handwash station – Although guests are encouraged to bring their own sanitation kit. There are sanitation stations inside the park for their guest and staff, in case they needed it.

Rides social distancing and disinfection

Prior to the pandemic, when the ride ends, staffs are already letting the next batch of guests to come in (entrance and exit have different paths). During pandemic, this routine is slightly changed. Now, every time the ride ends, Staff will sanitize first the area before accommodating the next batch of visitors. Don’t worry, sanitation will not take time, and also the lines are not that long since the park is operating 50% of their capacity only.

Visitors/guests will also need to observe social distancing while on the ride. Just to give you an idea,  In Rio Grande, out of 8 chairs, only 4 are allowed for guests (one seat apart) while in Dodgem (bump car) one 1 guest per car is allowed.

Fireworks Show

For those who are wondering if there is still a fireworks show.  We asked staff of Enchanted Kingdom about it and we found out that the fireworks show is temporarily suspended in compliance with IATF guidelines. We believe that this is also a safety protocol they needed to do in order to maintain social distancing and avoid visitors from gathering in one place.
