Taiwan Visa Free extended until July 2021
Good news travel lovers :), Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs already confirmed that they will extend visa-free entry for nationals from these 4 countries Thailand, Philippines, Brunei, and Russia. Yup! you heard it right! hmm still in doubt? You may check their official announcement here (Taiwan Visa-free extension). The Government of Taiwan decided to extend the visa-free entry due to a steady and significant increase of visitors/tourists from these 4 countries in 2019. Huh? Another year? Yup! The extended visa-free entry will last for another 1 year, meaning it will start from August 1, 2020, and ends on July 31, 2021.
Guys! don’t get too excited about this news. Although Taiwan already extended its visa-free entry, it doesn’t automatically mean that there will be no more guidelines or requirements. For Filipinos like us, there are still guidelines/requirements that needed to comply/follow.
TAIWAN VISA-FREE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR FILIPINOS
1) Filipino’s are eligible for the Taiwan visa-free program if the duration of the stay is no longer than 14 DAYS.
2) Valid Passport must have at least 6 months’ validity.
- You can’t go out of the country if your passport will expire with 6 months.
3) A confirmed return ticket or a valid ticket for your next destination.
- This includes VISA, in case your next destination requires you to have one.
4) Proof of accommodation.
- Hotel bookings
- In case you have a friend or relatives, you need to provide their contact information
5) Sufficient Travel Funds
- Make sure you have sufficient travel funds in case they asked you for show money.
Reminder:
Make sure to depart before the end of your visa-free entry. Please make sure to follow this rule.
- The duration of stay starts from the day after arrival and is not extendable. Visitors MUST depart by the end of the said duration. There are penalties for overstayed violators.
