We’ve received a lot of inquiries regarding National Planetarium, that’s why we’ve decided to create this travel guide for those who wanted to visit National Planetarium. Enjoy! 🙂

The National Planetarium

The National Planetarium is located between the Japanese Garden and the Chinese Garden at the Rizal Park.  It was recently reopened after major renovation and upgrades were made. But unknown to many, National Planetarium 1st opened to the public way back in 1975  and its primary purpose is to disseminate astronomical information through planetarium shows, lectures, and exhibits. It is definitely a perfect place for those who are interested in knowing more about our Universe.

A planet for Goldilocks.

Address: Padre Burgos Avenue, Ermita Manila (beside National Musuem, near Luneta and Manila Hotel)

Admission Fee: FREE

Admission time: Tuesday – Sunday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

For those who will watch the show, there is a fee,

Auditorium/ show: Student 30 Php

Senior citizen/PWD – 40 Php

Adult: 50 Php

Note:

National Planetarium shows are only for children 4 years old and up. They are strict and do not admit those who are younger than 4 yrs old.

How to go to National Planetarium?

  • If you know Luneta Park, National Planetarium is super near the area! You can walk for approximately 10 minutes from the park just ask people around where is Planetarium
  • If thru LRT1 (Light Rail Transit): just take off United Nation Station, walk towards Luneta or ride jeep towards Luneta or Planetarium just ask the jeepney driver.
  • If UV express, Circle ( Quezon City): take the route going Buendia and take off Manila City Hall, walk or ride jeepney towards planetarium.
  • From Coastal, ride UV express going Lawton: take off Kalaw and ride a jeep going Luneta or Planetarium.
