How do we get our Promo fare?

I always asked by someone“How do you book a cheap flight?”, or “Please book me a promo fare”. Mind you, we are not connected to any travel agency nor own an airline. We devote time and effort just to score one.

As a traveler, Promo Fares are our best friend. It lessens our transportation cost, which means more fund for our activities. However, we all know that it is hard to get a promo fare, it needs time and a lot of patience, I mean a huge amount of patience just to book one. But trust me, PISO fare or Promo is for REAL!

Also, another benefit of booking promo fare is that it gives you enough time to prepare, to make a thorough research to the destination you want, it’s like hitting two birds in one stone, right?

How we score our promo fares:

Option 1: Visit/Check third-party airfare application

Visit the official website of Skyscanner or download their app. This app works for me, so I’ll be sharing with you how to use it.

How Skyscanner works

Select “Explore everywhere”
The destination should be “Everywhere” and Date of travel is “Anytime”

You can use it even without promo scheduled just to scan cheap flights.

Once you already see and select the cheap flights, the app will direct you to the main website page of an airline. (Ex. Cebu Pacific website) so less doubt because you are actually booking directly to the website.
Or, you may only use Skyscanner as reference or “searcher”, once you were able to see which airline has the cheapest flight that you have selected you may go out the app and proceed to the main website.

In this app you can easily see and compare fare for the whole month, it really saves your time.

Option 2: Booking Direct to Airline sites

Promo starts at 12:00 A.M, but only a few are chosen to access the airline websites during this time. It usually crashes due to high traffic. For the chosen one, they still need a lot of patience just to fill out all the required details in booking a flight. In my case, I only booked after 3 A.M. because it is the time when all of those early birds already booked or they just already gave up.

Once you get in,

Scan dates as fast as you can (Fussiness- not gonna work)
Ready all the necessary details. (Name, Birth date, Passport number, etc)
Book not in a group, chances are it will appear sold out ( 1-3 passengers is enough), if you are traveling with large numbers, just try to over again for the next batch.
You have the options to remove other additional fees.
