Where we stayed at Siargao Island

Siargao Hotel

At first, we are checking some hostels and cheap hotels for our accommodation in Siargao. But after considering that we are travelling in a big group and we might lessen our cost if we cook our own food, we ended up availing AirBnb, an exclusive house (Punta Dolores). It has its own beach front, which is exclusive also to us and it is just a 20-30 mins Motorcycle ride from General Luna. The place is also near Daku Island, we can even see the island from its private beach.

Siargao Accomodation

But for our fellow budgetarians who are travelling  here in Siargao with a  small group or solo, We highly recommend that you get your accommodation in General Luna. General Luna is the town in Siargao where the famous Cloud 9 is located. There are a lot of hostels and hotels (cheap and luxury) in the area, it is also the place where the night life happens 🙂

Before we started the tour, We were advised to expect that we will get wet and leave our valuable belongings behind to avoid loss or destruction. The tour would usually last around 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on how fast the tourist finish the trail.

At the opening of the cave, the water is already chest deep and as you go deeper, the trail becomes harder due to darkness but enjoyable as well because of the different forms of stalagmites and stalactites that you can see inside the cave.  Its definitely one of a kind experience that someone should try.

Magpupungko rock pools

Magpupungko rock pools are located in the town of Pilar, Siargao. A 40- 45 minutes drive North of General Luna. After Magpupungko rock pools, We traveled towards the western part of the island at the town of Del Carmen. Del Carmen is the starting point of the Sugba lagoon tour, From its wharf it would be an hour of bout ride. But don’t worry, the ride wont be boring because you will be entertained by the beauty of Mother Nature around you.

Daku Island is the biggest island among the 3 and also nearest in our place. Guyam island is actually an islet that have a tear drop shape, you can actually tour the whole island in a few minutes.  Naked island is not an island for nudist, it is an island that don’t have trees and all you can see is only sand.

For those who have same early flight like us and still wanted to buy some  “pasalubong” or souvenir, we highly suggest to have it in General Luna. They have a lot of souvenir shops that offer variety of products. One of the famous souvenir shop in Siargao is “Gwapitos”.

For your transportation going back to airport, you should ask your hotel in advance if they have a service going to Airport or if they have someone to contact with that can assist you.
